Chef Mike respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
Data stored on your device
Fridge lists, shopping lists, meal-plan preferences, and favourites are stored in your browser’s local storage by default. This data stays on your device unless you sign in to sync it.
Sign-in and sync (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Google, we use Firebase Authentication to verify your account. Your display name, email, and profile photo may be shown in the app. Fridge and shopping-list data you sync is stored in Firebase so it can appear on your other devices. We do not sell your personal information.
AI features
Meal plans, recipe ideas, and fridge photo analysis are powered by third-party AI services (such as OpenAI). When you use these features, relevant text or images you submit are sent to those providers to generate a response. Do not upload sensitive personal information in photos or prompts.
Price catalog
Supermarket product and price data is collected from public retailer websites for planning purposes. Chef Mike is not affiliated with any shop. See our Terms and Conditions for disclaimers about price accuracy.
Cookies and analytics
Chef Mike does not use advertising cookies. Essential cookies or local storage may be used for sign-in sessions and app preferences. Hosting providers (such as Vercel) may process standard server logs (IP address, user agent) for security and performance.
